Finding a community is important for those struggling with their sexuality or gender. Here is a list of resources found in our local Kirksville area!
LGBTQ+ Resource Center: Located in Baldwin Hall room 101
PRISM: The vision of Prism is to incorporate values of diversity, appreciation of LGBTQIA+ culture, and the reverence of acceptance nationally and on Truman State University’s campus. Furthermore, we seek to have leaders emerge from our group with high ideals and the resolve to strive for the attainment of full civil liberties for queer people across the globe. In addition, Prism will provide a comfortable climate on this campus for LGBTQIA+ students and their allies. We welcome all students, visitors, professors, and Kirksvillians who are interested in learning more about LGBTQIA+ topics or meeting people with LGBTQIA+ experiences.
Safe Zone: Any faculty or staff member with the Safe Zone sign displayed in their workspace is committed to learning about LGBTQ issues and challenging homophobia and heteronormativity.
