The Vagina Monologues
Inspiring Truman Students Since 2001
V-Day is a global movement that aims to end violence against women, girls, and in the world in general. The movement was started with this play, The Vagina Monologues, by Eve Ensler in 1998. Based on interviews with over 200 women, the pieces explore female identity, sexuality, and stigmas through humor, passion, pleasure, hatred, love, sorrow, and hope. The New York Times called the play “the most important piece of political theater of the last decade.” The WRC staff and volunteers annually perform The Vagina Monologues.

This was clipped from an edition of the Monitor (which has recently made its comeback after a 4-year absence) regarding the reaction of the student body to The Vagina Monologues in 2001!!
The Vagina Monologues is a powerful play, and we encourage you to come see it while at Truman!
CW: sexual assault, violence, swearing
